On July 4th, 3 time Pro Bowler Steve McNair and a female companion were found dead in a Tennessee condominum. 36 year old McNair and 20 year old Sahel Kazemi were discovered lying on the floor early Saturday afternoon, in what first appeared to be a murder-suicide, but is now being deemed, a double homicide.
Investigators are not actively searching for suspects in the shooting. McNair was shot multiple times, while Kazemi suffered only a single gunshot to the head; the gun used in the incident was found under the body of Kazemi.
Kazemi a call girl/escort, is said to be the girlfriend of McNair. Two days before her death, McNair posted her bail after she had a run-in with the law on a suspected DUI in a black Cadillac Escalade which was registered to both her and McNair. This comes as a shocker to some of the residents in Nashville, as well as his fans, because McNair whose has a 12 year marriage to Mechelle Cartwright and four sons, was thought to be a clean-cut guy.
Bud Adams, Titans owner called Steve, “one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl.”
13 years in the league, 11 with the Titans, 2 with the Ravens, Co-MVP in 2003, and inches away from a Super Bowl victory, he will be missed by all that watched him play.
