CKC StART Street & Urban Arts is a Houston-based organization whose mission is to promote street, urban and alternative forms of art as a positive and creative force in the community.
Led by Aerosol Warfare’s GONZO247, this course will serve as an introduction to local and national graffiti history to promote street and urban art appreciation. Students will become familiar with the unique elements behind graffiti design during the intro-level drawing portion of this course, at which time the instructor will teach basic urban letter styles, composition, 3D, color and design. Students will then progress to spray paint techniques to understand the art of controlling a spray can while creating artwork. The course will conclude with graffiti history, hosted by Christian AZUL, including topics of discussion regarding style, street art vs. graffiti, and the evolution of street art.
